RM Bridge Modeler Help

Reference point, modify

SettingDescription
Group

Group, the reference point is related to (see refset ).

Name

Name of the reference point. RM uses only the first 4 characters, therefore they should be different.

Type

rptyp

Option "Change Group"

If active, the group assignment can be changed. By changing the group of a polygon point the group of all other points of this polygon is changed too.

Option "Change Point Data"

The input fields to change the point data are active.

X,Y or DX, DY

Coordinates of the reference point

Temp.Diff.:

Is only active at temperature points and shows the current temperature difference  of the reference point. The button CURVE shows the temperature curve through the cross section.

Part

The point may be assigned to any part. If a part is specified for the point, the point is transferred only for this part to RM. If the point is not assigned to any part, the program will detect geometrically the part(s) the point belongs to. In this case, the program searches all elements of the considered part and if the point is in or on any element, the point will be transferred for this part to RM. Otherwise, this point will be ignored for the part.

Local mesh refinement

The program tries to sub-divide the elements around the reference point. If a conflict with stiffeners laying in this area or user defined element refinements occurs, then this local mesh refinement will not be executed. Further Information: s.refine

Stress Point Details

To store the stress results in different points as leading component, user need to enable "Stress Point Details" and select normal or shear stresses under "Store Results for This Point" for desired points.
